This week our focus is on the Young Scientist of Kenya(YSK) Media launch on the STEM program. We focus as well on the successful scientific innovations of two students in accordance with the STEM program.
The number of children forced from home due to conflict, famine and natural disasters is high in Kenya. Many children lack the most basic resources or even a means to ask for help. At the same time the prejudice against them is on the rise too. To call attention and generate empathy for these children in need, their voice needs to be heard. The Day of the African Child 2019, was commemorated on the theme: “Humanitarian Action in Africa: Children Rights First,”
2019 Day of the African Child's theme was Humaninatarian Action: Children Rights First. The Activities across the continent started on 7th June, with the National and Regional commemoration being on 16th June. We have highlighted the different activities through out the week. This includes the launch of the Day in West Pokot, the special commemoration in Daogorreti Rehabilitation Center, the Nairobi commemoration and the National Commemoration in Tana. Natasha Mwansa is a young vocal and bold girl from Zambia who has spoken in many local and international forums advocating for issues affecting girls and the youth. This video is an interview done during the African Girls Summit 2018 Accra, Ghana. She has received international recognition and appraisal including the recent standing ovation from world leaders and participants in the Women Deliver Conference 2019 in Vancouver, Canada.
